Pomegranate Breakfast Burgers

Since being on AIP, breakfast have been quite an adventure. I used to have carb/ grain heavy breakfasts with very little meat. But, AIP has opened my eyes to the variety of breakfast meat options.

This breakfast burger combines savory elements of sage and garlic with sweet and tangy pomegranate seeds. A great way to start your day with plenty of protein. Perfect paired with sweet potatoes and veggies.

Pomegranate Breakfast Burgers
– 1 pound ground beef
– 2/3 pound ground pork
– 1 cup pomegranate seeds
– 2 T dried sage
– 1 T garlic powder
– 1 t cinnamon
– 1/2 T sea salt
– preheat oven to 400F
– mix all ingredients until spices are well incorporated
– form into 12 burger patties
– place in a baking fish
– bake for 25 minutes (until meat is cooked through)
